Caleigh Wildenstein Gets U of S Honors

Caleigh Wildenstein of Forest City was among the 57 members of The University of Scranton's undergraduate class of 2018 honored for their academic excellence, service or both at commencement.

Wildenstein was the recipient of the Excellence in Environmental Science Award. She graduated summa cum laude with a double major in environmental science and English and with a double minor in biochemistry and Spanish. She was a member of the Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society, the Sustainability Club and the Pre-Law Society. She served as a Math tutor and writing consultant for the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence. In the summer of 2017, Caleigh was awarded a competitive internship at Lacawac Sanctuary. After graduation, she plans to work in her field. She is a graduate of Western Wayne High School, Lake Ariel.

Local Students On ESU Dean's List

A total of 1,621 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Spring, 2018 semester of the 2017-2018 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.

Local students qualifying for the honor were as follows: Dane Barhite, an Early Childhood Educ (PreK-4) major from Clifford Township; Courtney Bognatz, a Special Education/Early Child major from Clifford Township; Amber Dubanowitz, a Comm Sciences & Disorders major from Susquehanna; Kayla Mecca, a Special Education/Early Child major from Hop Bottom; Lucas Nevins, a Hotel Rest and Tourism Mgmt major from Browndale; Jesse Roeske, an Earth and Space Science major from Kingsley; Anja Whitehead, a Digital Media Technologies major from Susquehanna.

Emily Stankiewicz Gets Dean's Award

Emily Stankiewicz, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2021, has earned the spring, 2018 Dean's Award with Distinction.

Stankiewicz is a graduate of Montrose Area Jr-Sr High School. Stankiewicz's current major is Computer Science.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the spring 2018 semester earn the Dean's Award with Distinction.

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania congratulates the more than 1,500 students who received their academic degrees on May 12, 2018.

Austin Graham On MSC Dean's List

Morrisville State College recently announced that Austin Graham, of Montrose was named to the Dean's List for the Spring, 2018 semester. Austin is a major in the Agricultural Business Development - BBA program.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.
