The Misericordia University Nursing Department recently held a pinning ceremony in Lemmond Theater in Walsh Hall to honor undergraduate nursing students in the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) program and the RN to BSN Expressway Accelerated Degree Program who graduated May 12 at the 92nd annual commencement ceremony.

Undergraduate nursing students who completed the program received the Misericordia University Nursing Pin, a symbol of achievement in the nursing profession. Family and friends attended the ceremony, which also featured Sister Jean Messaros, vice president of Mission Integration, RSM, blessing the pins, and nurses reciting the international pledge and prayer for nurses.

Keystone College celebrated its 147th commencement during a ceremony at the Pavilion at Montage, Scranton, on Saturday, May 12. Two hundred ninety-eight students participated in the ceremony.

Gregory Maguire, award-winning author of nearly 40 books, addressed graduates and received an honorary degree during the ceremony. Mr. Maguire's best-known work, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, is a New York Times bestseller that inspired the musical that has been entertaining Broadway audiences for nearly 15 years.

Keystone President David L. Coppola, Ph.D., presided over the ceremony. Tracy L. Brundage, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs, and Robert H. Swartley, chair of Keystone's board of trustees, presented the degrees to the candidates.

Nearly 1,700 students have been named to the Spring, 2018 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

Rochester Institute of Technology conferred 4,747 degrees this academic year at all its campuses-including in Croatia, Dubai, Kosovo and China. The university held its 133rd annual commencement celebration in May.

The following local students have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the Spring, 2018 semester: Nichole Lewis of Montrose; Rachael Rosengrant of Nicholson.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Meghan Gilhool, of Montrose, has been named to the Dean's List at Western New England University for the Spring, 2018. Gilhool is working toward a degree in Health Sciences.

Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Morrisville State College recently announced that Austin Graham, of Montrose was named to the Dean's List for the Spring, 2018 semester. Austin is a major in the Agricultural Business Development - BBA program.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

Dean's List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses, has been granted to Alan Brucher, Browndale, PA in the Spring, 2018 semester.

Christopher Reichlen, a native of Montrose, PA received a MS-Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Iowa at the close of the spring, 2018 semester.
