FEBRUARY 14

ASH WEDNESDAY: St Marks Episcopal Church in New Milford will be holding an Ash Wednesday Service on February 14th starting at 10 AM.

FEBRUARY 16

OPEN REHEARSAL: Bring your instrument and play along with the Northern Tier Symphony's open rehearsal on Friday, February 16 at 7:30pm. Meet-and-Greet at the Break. Located at Tunkhannock Middle School Auditorium, 200 Franklin Ave, Tunkhannock, PA. All instruments invited - strings welcome. We have percussion instruments. FEBRUARY 17

SUPPER: Hop Bottom United Methodist Church will be holding an “all you can eat” pancake/sausage gravy & biscuit supper on February 17 from 4:30 to 7 pm.

FREE LUNCH: St Marks Church in New Milford will be holding their Good News Lunch on Saturday, February 17 starting at noon. Free meal. All are welcome.

FREE LUNCHEON: Christ Episcopal Church at the corner of Delaware & Dundaff Streets in Forest City will be holding their monthly community luncheon. The meal is completely free, and all are welcome. Saturday, February 17th from noon to 1:30pm. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a hearty meal.

COMMUNITY DINNER: Please come and join us for a “Community Dinner” on Saturday, February 17th, at the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, Main Street, Susquehanna. The dinner starts at noon and continues until all are served. Bring your neighbors—bring your friends—but by all means, bring your appetite. There is no charge, you are our guest! FEBRUARY 18

DINNER THEATER: The Clifford Community Youth Group will hold their annual “Ziti with Your Sweetie” Dinner Theater on Sunday, February 18th at the Clifford Fire Hall, beginning at 2 PM. Salad, ziti with meatballs, beverage and dessert will be served as the youth and friends present "And Then There Was One, A Spoof". For tickets, please contact any youth member or by calling Robin at 570-222-4344. Thanks for supporting our youth!

FEBRUARY 20

FREE TASTING: Community Neighbors Connecting. On Tuesday, February 20, from noon to 2pm at St. Marks Community Center, Main Street, New Milford, PA. Come participate in our annual Blind Tasting. This year is Strawberry Ice Cream! (find out if you prefer store brand or a high priced one). This event is free. Bring a sandwich. Drinks provided. Every adult Susquehanna County Neighbor is invited.

MARCH 2

COUNTY AG DAY: The 29th Annual Susquehanna County Ag Day will be held on Friday, March 2nd at Elk Lake High School. The event will kick off at 10 am with 75 plus Ag vendors, educational workshops, health organizations, lunch, pie baking contest, pie auction, and delicious dairy products. All are welcome. Lunch reservations are required by calling the Susquehanna County Extension office at 570-278-1158. Reservation deadline is Noon, Thursday, February 22nd.  Individuals making reservations can pay at the door for their lunch.

MARCH 10

LIONS CLUB DINNER: The South Creek Lions Club will be holding a Roast Beef & Ham Dinner on Saturday, March, 10th from 4:30 until 6:30pm at the Lions Hall located on Route 14 n Gillett, Pennsylvania. The menu includes "real" mashed potatoes, vegetables, baked beans, home baked bread & coleslaw. Pies and cake will be available for dessert. MARCH 24

RESOURCE DAY: Information regarding services/resources available in Susquehanna County with be available to the public on Saturday, March 24th from 9 AM - 1 PM at Mt. View High School Campus. Please call 570.533.3716, for more information.

JULY 12

JULY 12-13-14: Union Dale Volunteer Fire Company is looking for band bids and contract offers for the annual July, 2018 picnic. Interested bands should contact Andrew Belcher at 570-241-7757 before February 12 deadline.

JULY 22

COMMUNITY CHORUS: The Susquehanna Community Chorus will be performing this summer as part of Hometown Days.  Our first practice will be on Monday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Hall in Susquehanna.  Our concert will be on Sunday, July 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Susquehanna Community High School Auditorium.  This chorus is open to anyone who would like to sing.  No prerequisites or auditions are required.  At the first practice we will hand out music and a rehearsal schedule.  Anyone wishing to participate, please contact Jeffrey Keyes, Brenda Tiffany, or come to the practice on April 9.

Monday: Presidents’ Day – All Centers Closed.

Tuesday: Cheeseburger, Oven-Browned Potatoes, Sauteed Cabbage, Fresh Fruit Salad.

Wednesday: Rosemary Chicken, Brussel Sprouts Medley, Herbed Rice, Berry Crisp.

Thursday: Baked Fish with Parsley, Scalloped Potatoes, Broccoli Florets, Whole Wheat Dinner Roll, Mandarin Orange Gelatin.

Friday: Roast Beef with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Cauliflower and Peas, Whole Wheat Dinner Roll, Scalloped Pears.

Community Dinner February 17th

Have you got a wicked case of “Cabin Fever”? Tired of looking at four walls and staring in the refrigerator for a hint of a different menu, only to find you really don’t feel like cooking? Have we got the answer for you.

Please come and join us for a “Community Dinner” on Saturday, February 17th, at the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, Main Street, Susquehanna. The dinner starts at noon and continues until all are served. Bring your neighbors—bring your friends—but by all means, bring your appetite.

The menu, (subject to change), will be pork, gravy and rice, roasted vegetables, a steaming pot of chicken vegetable soup, with a variety of desserts to choose from. There is no charge, you are our guest!

If you have joined us for our previous Community Dinners, you know that friendship, kindness, hope, strength, and good conversation are all served up with a smile and a hearty welcome. Open House At Senior Center

The Forest City Senior Center, located at 535 Main Street in Forest City, will host an Open House event February 15, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The Open House will showcase some recently finished improvements, and all are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be provided, door prizes will be awarded to attendees, and a basket raffle fundraiser benefiting activities of the Forest City Senior Center will take place. In the event that the center is closed due to inclement weather, the Open House will be held on February 23, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
