Retired Air Force Master Sergeant John H. Palmer, of Lathrop Township recently received a Peace Medal from the people of The Republic of Korea honoring him for his service during the Korean Conflict.  His service in Korea included tours of duty with the United States Navy and  the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, from 1950-1953.

John’s military service concluded in 1968, when he retired from the USAF following a one year tour of duty in Vietnam, from 1966-1967.  John and his wife of 63 years, Bernice, reside in Lathrop Township.  They are the parents of two adult sons, both also retired from the USAF.
