Free Community Dinner Planned

OCTOBER 14

SPAGHETTI DINNER: The Sanitaria Springs Fire Company will be having a Spaghetti Dinner on October 14th, starting at 4PM. It will be held at the fire station, located at 811 N.Y. Rte 11, Sanitaria Springs, N.Y. Dinner will include salad bar, dessert and drink.

SPAGHETTI DINNER: The Great Bend Knights of Columbus Council 356, will be having a spaghetti and homemade meatball dinner on Saturday, October 14 at the KOC Hall, 65 Kilrow St., Great Bend. The dinner will be from 4PM to 7PM and will feature salad, bread, homemade dessert and beverage. Take-out will also be available. Music to be provided by Carl and Friends.

OCTOBER 17

COMMUNITY NEIGHBORS EVENT: Community Neighbors Connecting is holding a “pawty” to benefit True Friends Animal Welfare center on Tuesday, October 17, 12PM to 2PM at St. Marks Community Center, Main Street, New Milford. There will be food and games. Please bring a donation off of True Friend’s Wish List. All are welcome!

OCTOBER 18

CHICKEN N BISCUIT DINNER:  The Clifford United Methodist Church, Main Street, Clifford, will be having a Chicken-n-Biscuit or Ham Dinner on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017 from 4PM to 6PM. It will include dinner, drink and dessert. Take-Out will also be available.

FREE LUNCH: St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, located on St. Rt 92 and 492, Jackson PA, will be having a free parish and community lunch on Wednesday, October 18th. The lunch will be from 12PM to 1:30PM and will include, stuffed cabbage, roll, dessert and beverage. Reservations are required, please call Joanne at 570-727-3441

SOCIAL MEDIA CLASS: Alex Charles will be instructing a class on how to navigate social media (facebook, twitter, etc.). The class will be held at the Gardner-Warner Post 154, PA American Legion, Montrose, from 4PM to 6PM on Wednesday, October 18th.

OCTOBER 21

HARVEST DINNER: The East Ararat Methodist Church will be holding a Harvest Dinner on Saturday, October 21. Take-out will be available from 3:30PM to 4:30PM. Dine-in, will begin at 5PM. Turkey, potato’s, veggies, beets and more will be included. For more information/questions call Jackie at 570-766-5322 or Jan at 570-727-2051. TURKEY SUPPER: The First United Methodist Church, located on Pratt Street, New Milford, PA, will be having a Turkey Super with all the trimmings on Saturday, October 21. The dinner will begin at 4:30PM, until all are served. Take-out will also be available.

OCTOBER 26

BLOOD DRIVE: Due to the latest tragedies there is a need to replenish the blood supply. St. Marks Church, located in New Milford, PA, will be holding a Community Blood Drive on Thursday, October 26th. The hours are from 1:30PM to 6:30PM.

OCTOBER 28

FREE LUNCH: The Stone Soup Kitchen of Christ Church, located on the corner of Delaware and Dundaff Street, Forest City, is having its free monthly community luncheon on Saturday, October 28th. The hours are from 12PM to 1:30PM. All are welcome!

OCTOBER 29

HALLOWEEN PARTY: The Gardner-Warner Post 154, PA American Legion in Montrose will be having a Halloween Party on Sunday, October 29. The party is from 1PM to 3PM for ages 10 and under. There will be games, prizes and fun!

Senior Center Menu, October 16-20

Monday: Open Face Creamed Chicken Sandwich, Parslied Mashed Potatoes, Tossed Salad and Diced Pears.

Tuesday: Pork and Bell Peppers, Asian Veggies, Brown Rice and Coconut Cream Pudding.

Wednesday: Salisbury Steak, Broccoli and Cauliflower, Mashed Potatoes, Whole Wheat Roll and Fruit Cobbler.

Thursday: Fish Almondine, Scalloped Potatoes, Snap Peas, Whole Wheat Roll and Oatmeal Cookie.

Friday: Turkey Salad Sandwich, Creamy Pumpkin Soup, Sliced Beets and Ambrosia Salad.

Free Community Dinner Planned

What do friendship, kindness, hope, strength, good people, conversation and food have in common? They are all integral parts that will make up the Free Community Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, October 21st, at the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, Main Street, Susquehanna, Pa. The dinner starts at noon and continues until all are served. Everyone is invited to attend.

Please, bring your friend or neighbor, but by all means, bring your appetite. If you were unable to come in September, please save the date and join us this month. You won’t be disappointed!
