Susky Students Visit Bing U

On December 6th, a group of 15 Susquehanna Community High School students visited Binghamton University for the day. This trip was organized by Dr. Warren and Nancy DeWitt. It was also funded by the Claire Williams O’Neil Foundation. This trip was intended for any juniors or seniors who are interested in the health care field. Students were immediately greeted by a Binghamton University nursing student, who also served as their tour guide for the day. She gave the students a very thorough tour of the school campus including dorm rooms, library, dining halls, lecture halls, and simulation labs in the Decker School of Nursing. Following the tour of campus, students met with an admissions counselor who spoke about the application process, tips for a successful application, admissions requirements, and deadlines. Students asked a variety of questions related to tuition for out of state residents, application deadlines, and SAT requirements. Students finished off their day by being treated to lunch on campus by Patrick Doyle, who works in the development office at Binghamton University (and who also helped organize this trip). Another huge “thank you” goes out to the Claire Williams O’Neil Foundation, The DeWitt family, and Patrick Doyle for another successful opportunity for the students at Susquehanna Community.
