Nelda Irene Tyler Leonard
Nelda Irene Tyler Leonard, 83, of Jackson PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, February 19th, 2016, after having been lovingly cared for the past few months at the Skilled Nursing Facility of Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA.
She was born to the late Gerald and Helen Tyler (MacConnell) on April 29, 1932 in New Milford, PA. Nelda grew up with and is survived by 4 sisters, Avis Morgan, Anita Millard (and Bill), Ethel Ferenczi, Ruth Page Gallagher; and 1 brother, William Tyler (and Dorothy).
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Lyle Leonard of Jackson, PA, and their family of 4 children, Brenda and Bob Levis of North Hampton, NH., Lanny and Joanna Leonard of Ormond Beach, FL., Analise and Dr. Scott Farrell of Vestal, NY., and Lynel and Lance Harding of Boston, MA; her 7 grandchildren, Tyler Levis, Alyssa Levis (fiancé Chris Wood), Whitney (Levis) and Grayson Shephard, Kyle and Karson Leonard, and Brendan and Meghan Farrell, are also blessed with wonderful memories.
Nelda will be remembered for the selfless ways she served her Lord. A leader in her church in many areas, she will especially be remembered for her heart’s passion of piano playing and singing. In the community she served as a Child Evangelism Fellowship leader teaching Release Time after school programs and Good News Camps for more than 30 years. Her worldwide ministry included accompanying her husband Lyle, on mission trips throughout Belize, Liberia, Senegal, New Guinea and Vanuata, as well as various mission opportunities in the US.
Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay and her car drove anyone who needed a ride to wherever they needed to go. There was no mistaking her strong faith in Christ and desire to lend a hand.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, March 12 from 10 to 12am at the South New Milford Baptist Church, 2967 Harford Rd. New Milford, PA. A service celebrating Nelda’s life will immediately follow.

Joyce Gloria Stensjo
Joyce Gloria Stensjo, 74, of Harford, PA passed away, Monday, February 22, 2016 at her home. Born November 18, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Johannes and Eleanor Ruth [Carlson] Stensjo.
She was employed as a hairdresser. She enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Alan Zona of Perkiomenville, PA. grandsons, Derek Zona, Kevin and wife Leah Zona; sisters, Gisken Naylor of Johnson City, NY and Susan Dorino of Patterson, NJ; a brother Edward Stensjo, Horsham, PA; special friends, Audrey and Arnie Button of Susquehanna, PA.
Services: were held at Lakeview Mennonite Church, 1323 Lakeview Road, Susquehanna, PA.
Arrangements were by Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Church St., Montrose, Pa.

IDA NILSSON
Ida Nilsson, 92, of New Milford, PA entered into rest on February 23, 2016 at her home. She was married to the late Robert “Dunna” Nilsson, who predeceased her on May 6, 1995. She was also predeceased by her parents, Pauline and Morris Skalka, a brother, David Skalka.
She is survived by a brother, Martin Skalka; several nieces and nephews, including Deanna Skalka; dear friends, Mary Ann and Skip Jorgenson, Joan and Doug Burman, and JR Wolfe; and many care givers, including Terry Frailey.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Betty Whitney for her dedication and compassionate care. We also thank Mary Ann, Skip, Joan, and Doug who ran to her aid whenever she called them, regardless of the time of day or her request. Hospice of the Sacred Heart also was a final blessing assisting with her care and we deeply appreciate Reverend Jane Pykus’ perfectly timed arrival.
At a young age Ida learned to play the piano, knit, and crochet. Many people enjoyed listening to her play and enjoyed her intricate hand made gifts. She took great pleasure in selecting and adding dolls to her collection. Ida was an avid traveler with “Eastern Travel” with hundreds of trips to many destinations. With her special personality, she was the entertainment on many a trip and with a joke or two for all of her friends, she would lighten the mood on a long trip. Ida was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She could often be found Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday playing BINGO.
A graveside service was held at Lakeview Cemetery. At Ida’s request, there will be no public viewing.
