Gail A. Ellis
Gail A. Ellis, 64, of Elk Lake, PA, passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2015 at the Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose, PA. She was born on May 24, 1951 in Silver Lake Twp., PA, to Richard L. Henry, Sr. of Silver Lake, PA and the late Beverly C. (Cornell) Henry.
She is survived by her father, Dick Henry and his wife, Jackie, Silver Lake, PA, husband, Elwin “Punk” Ellis, Elk Lake, PA, daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Lynn and Gary Cordner, Susquehanna, PA, 3 grandsons, Kyle, Travis, and Garrett Cordner, great granddaughter, Hailey Cordner, 3 sisters and brother-in-law, Dawn and Kevin Brewster, Silver Lake, PA, Debra Thomen, Binghamton, NY, Brenda Holte, Binghamton, NY, 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Richard Henry, Jr., Silver Lake, PA, Gary and Robin Henry, Silver Lake, PA, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Mark Henry.
Gail enjoyed bird watching, reading, traveling and was a great cook and baker. She loved to take care of her chickens and be around her family. Gail was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She owned and operated the Elk Lake Filling Station for 16 years. She was a wonderful person and was loved by all.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, September 14, 2015 at at the Daniel K. Reagan Funeral Home, Montrose, PA with the Rev. Richard Spering officiating. Interment in the Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, PA.

DALE L. McCONNELL
Dale L. McConnell, 80, of New Milford Lakeside, PA died on September 12, 2015 at Binghamton General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Viola. Dale is also survived by his daughter, Teresa and Henry Tanner.
He was a proud Korean War Veteran.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA.
SALLY MARIE TIERNEY
Sally Marie Tierney, 78, of Hallstead, PA entered into rest on September 6, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Edward Tierney, Sr.
Sally is also survived by her children, Edward Jr. and Becky Tierney, Jeffrey Tierney, Julie Barnard and George Stover, and Melissa Tierney; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Tim Cheslock, Ashley Tierney, Matthew and Ashley Tierney, Sarah Barnard, Adam Tierney, Chad Tierney; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Claire Cheslock and Tanner Tierney; two sisters, Delores “Sis” Thatcher and Kay ; a brother, Johnnie and Marsha Florance; Kay and Ram Butler and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Brock Tierney and a sister, Sandy Richardson.
Sally was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the St. Lawrence Folk Group. She was an avid bowler and was a talented woodworker and artist. Sally was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She truly enjoyed caring for the needs of her family.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Barnes-Kasson SNF for their compassionate care.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated September 10, 2015, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Great Bend, PA. Interment made in St. Lawrence Cemetery.

DARIUS P. SHIMER JR.
Darius P. Shimer, Jr. of Hallstead, PA beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2015 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. He was 79 years old.
Darius is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Dorothy “Glory” Shimer, Hallstead, PA; three children and their spouses, son, Robin Shimer, Vestal, NY, daughter Debbie and Andy McGrane, Killdeer, IL, and daughter, Penny and Eugene O’Grady, Marietta, NY; brother, James Shimer, New Milford, PA; beloved grandsons, Matthew McGrane and Aidan O’Grady; and cousin, Charles and Gail Cottrell, Niceville, FL. He was predeceased by his parents, Darius and Helen Shimer, Sr., infant brother, Byron, and brother, Joe.
Darius was a loving, selfless, modest, and positive person, beloved by family and friends for the thoughtfulness and respect he extended to others. By always striving to “do the right thing,” he uniquely touched the hearts of people and brought them greater happiness, and truly made a difference in their lives.
Darius was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Corporal while serving in the US Army from January 25, 1955 to January 24, 1957.
Darius was employed by IBM for 35 years, retiring in 1992 as a Senior Designer of computer chips at the company’s Glendale Lab facility. He was a volleyball enthusiast whose teams won numerous IBM League Championships at two levels, and he later continued to play in the New Milford Volleyball League. He also had a love for softball, playing on various successful IBM and Hallstead teams.
Upon retiring, Darius devoted time and passion to the hobby of restoring antique tractors. His attentiveness to detail produced a qualitative collection of restored tractors, housed on the New Milford family farm, where he was raised. He loved being outdoors and the peacefulness of the country. Darius also enjoyed his daily socializing, which began with the morning coffee klatch of friends, he met with at Burger King. He felt blessed to have numerous friends. He and his wife, Glory, cherished the deep friendship of close friends, Carleton and Helen Whitehead and family, Clair and Beverly MacRae, Dick and Gerri Holgate, and John and Gwen Ross.
Many thanks to the doctors and nurses who provided the compassionate care Darius received while at Robert Packer Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Thomas VanderMeer.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
