Each year, approximately 15 students, nominated by their AFF Student Chapter, are selected to receive 10-week internships at renowned U.S. media organizations, advertising agencies, and client and supplier companies. This is the second consecutive year that a University of Scranton student was awarded a Stickell Internship.

Stewart, formerly of Susquehanna, is a junior at the University majoring in communication. He will intern at the award-winning advertising agency Leo Burnett in Chicago, Illinois.

Stewart served in Iraq, 2009-2010 as a specialist in the U.S. Army with the 111th engineer company, 1st engineer battalion of the 555th engineer brigade. He serves as president of the University’s Student Veterans Club.

The Stickell Internship program was established in 1989 to honor the late Vance L. Stickell, former executive vice president, marketing, for the Los Angeles Times. The program is intended to raise awareness and understanding of advertising processes and business ethics among future advertising professionals. The interns receive a stipend in addition to either a scholarship or assistance with housing.
