Spring Sportsmen’s Event Scheduled

Have you ever wondered where you stand in your rights with the use of force for self protection? How about the use of deadly force and when is it justified? What about carrying a concealed weapon? These questions will be discussed and answered during Keynote Speaker Susquehanna County District Attorney Jason Legg’s presentation on The Castle Doctrine at the Susquehanna County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs (SCFSC) Spring Conference. Do you want to know about gun building, tactical shooting, fly fishing, coyote hunting, deer jawbone aging and what is quality deer management? These questions will also be answered, by other experts, during the events seminars.

This years Spring Sportsmen’s Conference, with dinner, will run from 5 to 8:30 pm on Saturday April 26th at the Bridgewater Church, Montrose Campus 10142 SR 167 Montrose, Pa. 18801.This years event format features several mini seminars and a keynote speaker. The SCFSC wants you to know that the event is open to the public (you do not have to be a member of the SCFSC).

The seminars (approx. 1/2 hour) include: Fly Fishing by TV personality and Fly Fishing expert Charles Charlesworth; Coyote hunting and Coyote hunting with dogs by local guide Jack Sorber; Tactical Shooting - Ray Telnock and Phil Leary; Deer jawbone aging and “What is Quality Deer Management?” by Susquehanna Branch of QDMA members - Rusty Ely, Bob Wagner and others; Gun Building 101 - David Wells (Wells Custom Gun maker LLC).

Vendors representing the outdoor, recreation hunting, shooting and more will be on hand throughout the evening. Raffles, auctions and door prizes are part of the event.

The doors open at 5pm. Mini seminars start shortly after the doors open, Dinner - chicken and biscuits starting around 6:45/7:00pm, after dinner DA Jason Legg will speak.

There is a fee for the event. Reservations Required by April 18th. For information or tickets call 570-396-8798.

The Susquehanna County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs is currently made up of the following clubs and organizations: New Milford Rifle and Pistol Club, Hallstead/Great Bend Rod and Gun club, Silver Lake Rod and Gun, Canawacta Rod and Gun, Harford Rod and Gun, South Gibson Conservation Club, Rush/Middletown Rod and Gun Club, District 9 Trappers Association, Susquehanna Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association, Choconut Valley Snowmobile Riders Club and the Wilson F. Moore Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
