Kenneth J. Pritchett, Sr.

Kenneth J. Pritchett, Sr., 77, of Ararat, Pa. passed away on Wednesday December 4, 2013 at the Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pa.

He is survived by his loving wife Jean (Hill) Pritchett and they just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 10th. He is also survived by one brother Wayne Pritchett; six children Dawn & Larry DaVis; Debbie & Russ Lewellen; Jeannie Bernstein; Sherri Crompton; Kenneth & Kelly Pritchett, Jr.; 28 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Ken was a self-employed as a custom builder since June of 1961. He was multi-talented and gifted in the art of wood working. Many of his talents he passed on to his children. He built the only ski slope in South Jersey in 1965. He made dune buggies for his children and many 4th of July floats were family projects. He created projects for Bible Schools at local Evangelical Churches. Donated his time to neighbors, friends and handicap organizations, pouring concrete for new buildings. He spent time in his Ararat home drafting plans for barns, garages, a home and a church addition. These were things he enjoyed with no payment except God’s Blessing.

He adored his children and loved his son-in-laws. He was a firm believer in good morals, principals and always doing a good job in your work the first time around.

Thank you to the following people who touched his life: church leaders, several pastors, Doctors, nurses, Home Health and Hospice of Eynon. A very special thank you to a dear friend Robin Plant. She was here five days a week steady, strong and truly his friend.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday December 12th at 1:30 pm at the First Baptist Church 695 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, Pa. with Pastor Gary Day officiating.

Burial will be in the Ararat Cemetery Ararat, Pa.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the First Baptist Church of Susquehanna.
