Community Chorale Presentation
Submitted by MaryAnn DeWitt
It’s that time of year again. Welcome to Christmas in Montrose. Among the events planned for the weekend of December 6th is the annual Montrose Community Chorale concert, 3 pm, Sunday, December 8, at the Montrose Area High School auditorium. With wonderful selections that evoke the wonder and joy of the season, and a sing-a- long of familiar carols with the audience, this event is sure to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. You will see many faces you recognize up on stage, as the chorale is made up of local singers and church choir members. Under the direction of Mr. Dave Andre, the chorale is in its ninth year of bringing the sounds of the season to Montrose. This year, we’ll be treated to the music of the Mountain Aire Brass ensemble joining the Chorale. This group includes Jeff Burkett and Mike Krauss playing trumpets, Val Harvilchuck on French horn, Jay Thornton on trombone, and Jack Moulton on the tuba. The flute of Terry Tyler will add a special touch to some numbers. In addition, our accompanist, Kristin Burkhart , is preparing a selection for our enjoyment.
Chocolates by Leopold is once again making a sweet treat for the raffle, this year the delectable creation is a Gingerbread house. Stop by Leopold’s for your chances to win, or Chorale members will have tickets for purchase and the winner will be drawn at the concert.
As in years past, there will be a free will offering that benefits the Salvation Army and Interfaith organizations. After the concert light refreshments will be served in the cafeteria. Thank you for supporting this event each year, and have a blessed Holiday Season.
