Marguerite Wilmarth Wellman Evans

Marguerite (Peg) Wilmarth Wellman Evans, 90, of Hallstead, PA, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2013 at Barnes-Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her parents, Clayton and Martha Wilmarth; first husband, Leland A. Wellman, and second husband, Idris “Ed” Evans; daughter, Wanda Grimaldi; sister, Dorothy Whalen; brother, Wallace Wilmarth; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Melissa Wilmarth; brother-in-law, Fran Caden. She was also predeceased by her step grandson, Billy Evans, who was killed in 2005 while serving in Iraq. arguerite is survived by her five children and their spouses, Richard and Carol Wellman, Melbourne, FL, Fran and Donna Wellman, Harford, PA, Wayne and Kandy Wellman, Harford, PA, William and Gail Wellman, Great Bend, PA, Martha and David Randis, Binghamton, NY; step son, Billie Evans, Hallstead, PA; sisters and sister-in-law, Evelyn Caden, Doris (John) King, and Josephine Wilmarth; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Marguerite graduated from the New Milford Joint High School in 1940. She married her first husband Leland and lived in the Harford area until his death after 43 years of marriage. She lived in Florida with her second husband, Ed, until his death after 6 years of marriage. After Ed’s death, she returned to Susquehanna County and resided at Emerson Apartments, Hallstead, PA. Wherever Marguerite went, she was fondly greeted by friends. She spent her life doing good for others, traveling, cooking, and baking for her friends and family. She enjoyed Bingo, Scrabble, and many card and board games, as well as putting jigsaw puzzles together. She put her love into crocheting afghans for her children, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Great Bend, when she was able. Marguerite was a member of the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the United Methodist Community Church, Food Pantry Fund, P.O. Box 586, Great Bend, PA 18821 or the First Congregational Church of Harford, Youth Fellowship, P.O. Box 217, Harford, PA 18823.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA, followed by a time of refreshments. Inurnment will be made in the Gibson Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA.

Jerome (Jerry) Florance

Jerome (Jerry) Florance, formerly of Hallstead, PA passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 31, 2013 in Summerfield, Fl. He was predeceased by his parents, Jane and Jimmy Florance, his twin sister Jeannine Andrejack and her husband Bill.

He is survived by his loving companion of 27 years, Rosemary Freeman and her family Theresa & Lorraine SanFilippo, Julia, Stacy, Nathan, Alexi and Avery Pearson, sister Janet (Floyd) White, brother James (Barb) Florance, niece Wendy Connolly, nephews Dan White, Nick and David Anderjack, Aunt Evelyn Woolbaugh, Uncle Harry Kunsman, several cousins, many friends and his loving yorkies Charlie and Cherri.

Jerry’s love for song and dance will live in our hearts forever. At the request of the deceased there will be no service.

Ronald J. Reese

Ronald J. Reese, 64, New Milford, PA went to his final resting place on Sunday, April 7, 2013 after many years of illness. Ron is survived by his loving wife Vicki, of 44 years, his three sons and their wives, Ron, Jr. and Shannon, Christopher and Tracy, and Brian and Betsy, and five grandchildren, Dalton, Lola, Ava, Brayden, and Fara. He is also survived by three brothers, Walter, Kenneth, and Richard and two sisters, Karen and Arlene. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Rosana Reese and by his brother Harry.

Ron, originally from Long Island, was a retired Police Detective with the Nassau County Police Department. He also owned two businesses before retiring to his summer home on Upper Lake 13 years ago. Ron and Vicki came to Upper Lake every summer for almost 40 years with their sons and families. Ron loved hunting and fishing. Later in life he became an avid birdwatcher and was happy paddling around his beloved Upper Lake.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions in honor of Ron may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 65 E. Elizabeth Avenue, Suite 502, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
