Tyler James Gunn, 16, of Hallstead, PA passed away on March 5, 2013. He is survived by his mother, Wendy Sheridan and father, Jeff Gunn.
He is also survived by his siblings, Darin Ford, Megan Ford, Dillon Marshman, and Alison Marshman; step mother, Maria Gunn; step father, Dustin Sheridan; grandparents, Richard and Loretta Ormsby and Keith and Maxine Gunn; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Tyler was a Sophomore at Blue Ridge High School. He was formerly involved with football, baseball, and basketball. His sense of adventure lead him into hunting and dirt bike racing, including turning wrenches to maintain the bike and his new truck. He lit up the room when he entered with his vivid personality. Tyler had a tender loving heart and shared it with everyone he met. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 3:00 p.m., at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment will be made in the spring. Philip Traversi of Thompson, PA went to be with his Lord on March 3, 2013 after a long illness. He was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1942 to the late Salvatore and Marie Traversi. His younger brother, William Traversi, previously passed away in 2001. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Emily Marie (Doswell) Traversi, sons Philip P. Traversi and Anthony S. Traversi, sister-in-law Pauline Traversi, niece Heather Lee Traversi, and many cousins in Pennsylvania.
Prior to living in Thompson, PA, Philip was a resident of Florham Park, NJ for more than 50 years. He worked for Strahman Valves in Florham Park for close to 36 years, retiring as the Finance Manager in 2000. Philip served in the US Army during the Vietnam War Era and was honorable discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant on October 20th 1969. He was an ardent supporter of our men and women who served during the war. By special nomination, he was presented with the National Medal of Patriotism by the American Federation of Police due to his devotion to our nation. Philip received a Certificate of Recognition from the Secretary of Defense due to his service to our country during the period of the Cold War. He was a 20 year member of the American Legion, Post 1000, Trenton, NJ; an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 18, Chester, NJ; a life member of the 78th Infantry Division Veterans Association, NE Chapter; the New Jersey Association of Sportsmen; the NRA; a past member of the American Management Association; a vestry member of Christ Church, Susquehanna, PA.
A Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 9,2013, at 10am, at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison NJ.
Interment will be in the Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
