Rev. Robert J. Bixby
Rev. Mr. Robert J. Bixby entered into Heaven on Saturday January 26, 2013 following a brief illness.
He was born on July 20, 1946 in Susquehanna, PA to Robert and Ellen Bixby. He was a member of Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine Catholic Church in Orlando, FL. He worked at the World Center Marriott where he was affectionately known as “Segway Bob.” He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He served in the Army Reserve and Army as a Drill Sergeant in Fort Leonardwood, MO. He is predeceased by longtime friend, John, and his father Robert Bixby. Survivors include his mother, Ellen Bixby, of Susquehanna; sisters Ann Marie Lee (Joe) and Mary Norris (Chris) both of Susquehanna, Kathy Gaworecki (Rick) of Johnson City; brothers, Dale Bixby of Binghamton, NY., John Bixby (Sharon) Forest City, PA., Joseph Bixby (Rose) of Lenoxville, PA., and Steve Bixby (Jen) of Susquehanna. He is also survived by aunts and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank friend Tim Dent and nieces, Sally Bixby and Danielle Biesecker, for the kindness and care they gave to their FUB (favorite Uncle Bob.).
ELIZABETH A. JENNINGS
Elizabeth A. Jennings, 59, of Great Bend, PA peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Raymond. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Coyne, a brother, Ed, and a sister, Ceil.
Liz is also survived by two sons and a daughter, Bret Jennings, Bart and Wendy Jennings, and Beth and Tom Ashman; ten grandchildren, Jordan and Alexander Jennings, Ashley, Abigail, Alyssa, Allison, and Nicholas Jennings, Ryan, Maura, and Morgan Ashman; two brothers, Peter Coyne and Lucille Trainer, and John Coyne; a sister, Margaret Wilson; her father-in-law, Raymond and Betty Jennings; a sister-in-law, Shelia Coyne; an aunt, Christine Koberlein; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close, lifelong friends.
Liz was employed as a registered nurse, over the years with Lourdes Hospital and home healthcare. She served as president of the Private Duty Nurses’ Association. She earned her insurance agent license and worked for Penn Weber Insurance Associates and CBIA alongside her husband for many years. Liz enjoyed traveling. Cape May and Cape Hatteras were two favorite vacation destinations. Liz had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, teaching them to bake and reading stories to them.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Spring interment will be made in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Great Bend/Hallstead Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc., 200 Carol Street, Great Bend, PA 18821.
ROBERT C. TREIBLE
Robert C. Treible, 86, of Great Bend, PA went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2013. He is survived by Marjorie, his loving wife of 10 years. He was predeceased by his first wife of 55 years, Betty Rae in 2001 and also his son, Bobby Treible in 1994.
Bob is survived by a daughter, Jeanne and Frank Hidalgo; a daughter-in-law, Linda Treible; a step son, Paul and Joy Walker; a step daughter Jayne and Joe Frye; several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Bob was a proud veteran, serving with the US Navy Seabees during World War II. He attended the Seabees annual reunion. He owned and operated Treible’s Excavating Inc. with his son for 35 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Community Church, the Lions Club, the Bluestone Masonic Lodge, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the American Legion, and the V.F.W. When in Florida, he also enjoyed the ROMEO Club. Bob enjoyed his numerous projects, photography, fishing, and the newest electronic gadgets. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, for entertaining friends and family, and for his independent spirit. He found great joy in giving and doing things for others.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the United Methodist Community Church. Spring interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
