On Saturday, March 31st everyone in the North Jackson Ag 4-H club was invited to Brian Dana’s pig farm. Everyone who went had an enjoyable time learning all about pigs. Mr. Dana taught us how to pick a pig that would win in a class. We also learned what makes a pig less desirable. Did you know that you want your pig to walk square? Also, look for nice hams and don’t forget a nice level back. That is just a few of the many things that we learned at the pig farm. Yes, there were piglets there, LOTS of piglets! Believe it or not, I even got to hold two little piglets!
Thank you, Mr. Brian Dana for all the knowledge you shared with us and for the enjoyable morning at your farm.
