RAYMOND I. TODD

Raymond I. Todd, of High St. in Oakland, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, after an illness.

Raymond was predeceased by his wife Agnes (Denney) Todd; his two sons Mark and Douglas Todd; and two daughters Valerie Jumper and Judith Sager.

He is survived by his three sons Carl, Jeff and Joel Todd; and two daughters, Karen Donovan and Laurie Carvin; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Raymond was a great man who will be deeply missed by his family and close friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Locust Hill Church, on Locust Hill Road and Church Road, in Great Bend Township, on Saturday, December 3 at 1 p.m. with President David Hansen officiating.

GAREY N. STANFORD

Garey N. Stanford, of Pearce/Sunsites, AZ died at home on November 22, 2011 at the age of 72. He was born Susquehanna, PA on November 22, 1939 to Kendall and Minnie Plew Stanford.

Garey was a retired heavy equipment operator, a Jehovah Witnesses and moved to Arizona 8 years ago. On October 1, 1971 in Susquehanna he married Eleanor “Ellie” McAndrew who survives him.

He is also survived by his children Carol Cicon of Sunsites, Norris (Lori) Cobb of PA, Janet (Dave) Vanderpool of Sunsites, Timothy (Susan) Cobb of PA, Westley (Amanda) Stanford of Mescal, AZ, Steven (Jodi) Stanford of PA, Kevin and Keith Stanford both of NC. Garey is also survived by his sisters Thana (Ray) Stone and April Dawn (Glen) Thompson both of PA; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren to include a very special great grandson Caleb.

Preceding in death was his parents and one brother.

Graveside services were held Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Russellville Cemetery in Texas Canyon.

Contributions may be made to either the Charles Wm. Leighton Jr. Hospice, P.O. Box 115, Willcox, AZ 85644; or the Pearce/Sunsites Fire Dept. Services entrusted to Westlawn Chapel, Mortuary and Crematory of Willcox, AZ.

DOROTHY A. ROGERS

Dorothy A. Rogers, age 83, of Hop Bottom, died Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Endless Mountains Healthcare System, Montrose.

Her husband Joseph passed away in 1990.

She was born in Scranton, daughter of the late James and Catherine Zuk Kowalchuk. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Nicholson, the Democratic Women’s Club, and was very active in church activities and functions.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Rogers of Hop Bottom and Kathleen Churilla of Old Forge; a son James of Hop Bottom, his companion Jody Hall, her daughter Tiffany Parry and granddaughter Olivia Parry; a sister Lorraine Wisnieski of Dalton; two grandchildren Candice Churilla and Michael Churilla, III; nieces and nephews; and special pets Ernie and Sandy. She was predeceased by a son Joseph; four brothers Mike and Jim Kowalchuk and Dan and Efram Litoski; four sisters Mary Litoski, Jenny Psak, Olga Stanton and Catherine Dixon.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State Street, Nicholson with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Patrick’s Church, High Street, Nicholson celebrated by Father Edward Michilini.

Interment will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Nicholson.

Memorial Donations can be made to the Hop Bottom 1st Response Team, St. Patrick’s Church Building Fund, or the donor’s favorite charity.
