ELIZABETH RAE REGAN LAWRENSON Elizabeth Rae Regan Lawrenson, of Oakland, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011. She was born in Susquehanna, PA on May 14, 1925. She was predeceased by her mother Marion Curran Regan; her father Ray D. Regan and step-mother Marie Regan; two sisters Cecile Hobson and Margaret Craige. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Carl A. Lawrenson; two daughters Cecile & Bill Ball and Jane & Bill Mazikewich; three sons Fred & Holly Lawrenson, Kim & Maryanne Lawrenson and Stephen & JoAnne Lawrenson; sister-in-law Arlene Catlin; 14 grandchildren Jennifer & Scott Sorber, Amy & Bill Ide, Jason & Bree Ball, David Lawrenson, Neva & Dane Burns, Erin & Jelani Greene, Kristin & Stewart Peters, Alec & Erin Mazikewich, Stephen Mazikewich, Emily Lawrenson, Sophie Lawrenson, Katie Lawrenson, Lindsay Lawrenson and Maggie Lawrenson; 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Betty lived her life for her family and home. She was a strong and loving mother and set an example of courage right to the end. She was small in stature and mighty in spirit. Betty worked in the cafeteria at the Susquehanna Community School for 12 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Susquehanna United Methodist Church. The funeral service was held on Sunday, January 16 at the Susquehanna United Methodist Church with Rev. James Rouse officiating. Burial was in the McKune Cemetery, Oakland, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. JOHN A. KRAYESKI John Anthony Krayeski, age 53, of Springville died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at home. His wife is the former Shirley Lauer; they were married September 5, 1981. Born July 7, 1957 in Kingston, PA, he is the son of Eugene Kraweski of New York, New York and Julia Tice Krayeski of Scranton. He was a college graduate, having attended the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville. John was a self-employed architectural engineer and was the owner of Springville Design & Consulting. He formerly was employed at NC Stauffer & Sons Inc. for many years. He was an army veteran of Vietnam and was a member of the National Guard for 15 years. John was vice-commander of the Elk Lake American Legion Post #154; was a member of the Montrose VFW Post #5642; was a member of the Warren Masonic Lodge #240 in Montrose and the Knights Templar. He was also a member of the Benton Township Lions Club and the Irem Temple. He was an avid outdoorsman. He is also survived by one son John Jr. of Springville; two daughters Sarrah Wilcox of Springville, and Mae Krayeski, at home; one brother Kevin of Montrose; three sisters Tammy Brochetti of NY, Celia Krayeski of NY, and Susie Krayeski of Scranton; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St. Nicholson, with services by Rev. Jane Bensley. Interment with military honors was in the Lauer Family Cemetery, Lathrop Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elk Lake American Legion Post 154. HELEN HARVEY Helen Harvey, 99, of Montrose, PA, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Meadow View Senior Living Center. She was born in Honesdale, PA to the late Leonard and Gertrude L. (Horst) Coons. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Raymond Landon, Jr., Decatur, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Lucille Harvey, Nicholasville, KY; daughter-in-law, Grace Harvey, Montrose, PA; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Her husband of 23 years, Ralph Harvey; two sons, Leonard, and Duane Harvey; along with four brothers; sister; a step-great-grandchild, predeceased Helen. Helen was a member of the North Jackson United Methodist Church when she lived in Susquehanna, and attended the South Montrose Community Church while living in Montrose. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Helen worked as a seamstress at the Matis Lingerie in Oakland, PA, and was a devoted mother. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held in the Spring at the Valley View Cemetery, Ranson Newton, PA. MILDRED M. KAISER Mildred M. Kaiser, 90, most recently of Susquehanna, PA, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Tuesday January 11, 2011 at Barnes Kasson Hospital after an illness. Mildred was born in New York City, served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II and worked as a school bus driver in New Jersey before moving to Northeast PA in the 1980’s. She served her Lord in many ways here locally including at several churches, becoming a deacon, Adult Sunday School Teacher and lovingly fulfilling many other responsibilities at the Lanesboro Community Church and assisting in the Communion Services of the Tri-Boro Ministerium at Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility as well as leading Bible studies there and being a loving Christian friend to so many of its residents and staff. She was a member of the American Legion Post #86 where she served as Chaplain for many years, worked as a foster grandparent in New Milford Head Start Program and used her love and skill in working with dolls to make and repair them for many girls of all ages. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Sarah Morris; and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Ellen Kaiser of Ohio; grandchildren Angela Kaiser of California; Robert Kaiser, Jr. of Nevada; Thomas Kaiser of North Carolina; five great grandchildren; and a niece Bonnie Raab of New Jersey; as well as her “grandchildren” at New Milford Head Start; her church family and many other loved ones whose lives were touched by the Lord through her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22 at the Lanesboro Community Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Batzel officiating.
