Everyone showed their school spirit at the recent Sabers homecoming parade! The Susquehanna Parent Involvement Committee’s float was a Peanuts' character bus donated by Raymond Swanson and driven by Cathy Boughton. The kids - Haley, Karina, Brittany and Gabrielle - did a great job tossing goodies and invitations to join PIC to the crowd. A special meeting is being held Thursday, October 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the elementary school conference room to discuss and plan the upcoming Halloween dance(s) scheduled for Saturday, October 30 at the Lanesboro Community Center. The Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the elementary gymnasium. The PIC welcomes volunteers to help out for each or any activity. Sierra Robinson On IUP’s Deans List Sierra A. Robinson, of Montrose, has been named to the summer 2010 dean’s list at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Students achieve dean’s list status when they are full-time (12 or more credits) with a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
Blue Ridge Supports Cancer Research Once again, Blue Ridge School District participated in the Lee National Denim Day, which is one of the largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer research. On Thursday, October 7, 90 participants from the Blue Ridge School District joined together to raise $580 for breast cancer research. Over the years, the BRSD has raised over $2000 for this cause.
