JANICE M. FARNAM BAKKER

Janice M. Farnam Bakker, 67, formerly of Hallstead, PA and Warwick, NY passed away November 5, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Bakker in 2008.

Janice is survived by her children, Larry Bishop and Donna Sackett, Susquehanna, PA, Dee Cogswell, Arkansas, Jerry Bakker, Wallkill, NY, Theresa TenCate, Tecumseh, MI, Hank Bakker, Sloatsburg, NY, Chuck Bakker, Bedminister, NJ, and Garry Bakker, Sloatsburg, NY; two sisters, Barbara Scaggs and Anna Farnam; eighteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Janice attended the United Reform Church of Warwick, NY. She was employed for more then fifty years as a waitress for many different restaurants.

A funeral service was held Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA. Interment was made in the Florida Cemetery, Florida, NY.

Should friends so desire expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society or your local Hospice.

PETER JOHN CAVENDER

Peter John Cavender, 45, of Columbia, MD passed away November 7, 2009 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Maria Lusyl Jabar Cavender. He was predeceased by his father Dr. John C. Cavender.

Peter is also survived by his mother, Diane Stearns Cavender, Hop Bottom, PA; two sons, Alexander Cavender and Timothy Cavender, both of Vermont; a brother, Charles D. Cavender, Hop Bottom, PA; a sister Barbara Cavender, Holland, PA; a niece and a nephew; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Peter graduated from Abington High School and attended Drexel University. He was gifted with technology. Peter was formerly employed with Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab where he worked on the Mars Orbiter Probe and currently employed with Comtech Mobile Data.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at Round Cemetery, Uniondale, PA.

GEORGE A. GALL

George A. Gall, 80, of Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA passed away unexpectedly while hunting on Saturday November 7.

He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Gall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Esther (Snyder) Gall; his daughter and son-in-law Nancy & Roger Hall of Brushville, PA; grandson Neil & Robin Hall of Susquehanna and two special great grandchildren Eric and Emily; two sisters Lois Murch and Rosemary Gall; sister-in-law Shirley Gall; many nieces and nephews.

George was retired from Crowley Foods of Binghamton, NY. The great joys of his life were hunting and his beloved great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA.

Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery in Lanesboro, PA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
