DONALD G. ALBERT, M.D. MEMORIAL SERVICE

Dr. Donald G. Albert of Harbor Springs, MI, formerly of Susquehanna, passed away on December 6, 2008. A memorial service will be at his graveside in Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.

MARGUERITE BUCHANAN

Marguerite Buchanan, 83, of Susquehanna, PA passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Barnes Kasson SNF in Susquehanna, PA.

She was born in Masonville, NY the daughter of the late Herbert & Hazel (Scott) Kelsey.

She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth George Buchanan, Sr., son Kenneth George Buchanan, Jr., Grandson Kenneth George Buchanan, III, two brothers Harold Kelsey and Herb Kelsey, two sisters Iva Dumond and Elva Kelsey, son-in-law Kenneth Edward Irwin.

She is survived by children Gerry & Bill Kuiper, Susquehanna; Kathy Irwin, Susquehanna; Irene & Harry Stanley, Montrose, PA; Charlene & Leo Rivera, Davenport, FL; Darlene & Darrin Albert, Smithfield, NC; brother Rexford & Lisa Kelsey, Puxico, MO; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Marguerite worked as a nurses aid at the Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna for 24 years and 7 months. She enjoyed playing bingo, poker, dancing and spending time with her family. In her younger years she drove a stone truck and gave a lot of home perms for ladies hair.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 21 at 1 p.m. at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna with Rev. Carl Batzel officiating.

Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery in Lanesboro, PA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful nurses, aids, and kitchen staff at the Barnes Kasson Hospital.

GEORGE A. RUPAKUS, JR.

George A. Rupakus, Jr., 50, of Church Street in New Milford, PA passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 after an illness.

He was predeceased by his parents George A. & Maureen H. (Bradley) Rupakus, Sr. and one brother William Rupakus.

He is survived by his aunt Joan Lake of Susquehanna, PA; uncles Mr. & Mrs. William Repacks, New Milford; Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Repacks, Lanesboro, PA; Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Bradley, New York; Mr. & Mrs. Edward Bradley, New York; Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Bradley, FL; Mr. & Mrs. Michael Bradley, FL; Mr. & Mrs. James Bradley, FL; and William Bradley.

He worked in construction as a painter and after his retirement he moved from Brooklyn, NY to New Milford to live with his father George Rupakus, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

K. ALLEN ROSZEL, SR.

K. Allen Roszel, Sr., 82, of Montrose, PA passed away, Thursday, July 16, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born July 26, 1926 in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late William E. and Addie L. [Flock] Roszel.

He was a dairy farmer all his life.

Al was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Montrose, Dairy Farmers of America, Susquehanna County and a director of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau as well as several other dairy and farming organizations. He was past President and life member of the United Fire Company, Montrose and past Director of the Montrose School Board, in which he had been involved for over 17 years. Before moving to Montrose in 1960, he had been an active member and past Chief of the Dutch Neck Fire Company in New Jersey. He also served on the Deacon board of the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church.

He loved John Deere tractors and collected pens.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara J. [Barr] Roszel of Montrose, PA; sons & daughters-in-law, Ken Jr. & Karen Roszel of Bloomsburg, PA; Bill & Diana Roszel of Montrose, PA; Maury & Kim Roszel of Montrose, PA; eight grandchildren: Jeanne, William Jr., Nathaniel, Samantha, Rebecca, Allen, Alex and Guy; two great grandchildren, Vanessa and William Isaiah; brothers & sisters-in-law, Robert & Charity Roszel of Toms River, NJ and Vernon & Alberta Roszel of Toms River, NJ, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Malcolm Roszel.

Services were held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801.
