R.E.S.C.U.E. Awards Local Graduates The Wayne/Susquehanna chapter of the environmental group R.E.S.C.U.E. has made a cash award of $100.00 to six 2009 graduating seniors, in six school districts within Wayne/Susquehanna R.E.S.C.U.E. geographical boundaries. Qualifications for the award include good citizenship, leadership in an environmental area, past interest in environmental projects, and/or the possibility of a future career in an area that would benefit the environment. This year the recipients are Megan Hershey from Western Wayne High School; Andrew Bennett from Honesdale High School; Mitchel Mertz from Forest City Regional High School; Lacey Sholtiss from Susquehanna Community High School; Jessica O’Keefe from Mountain View High School; and Bradley Noble from Hancock Central High School. Congratulations to the winners in 2009.
Susky High ’08-‘09 Perfect Attendance The following Susquehanna Community High School students had perfect attendance for the 2008 - 2009 school year. 7th grade - Richard Delaney, Jonathan Felter, Alyssa Jacobs, Micaela Rhone; 8th grade - Melissa Kukowski; 9th grade - Aaron Arthur, Jeffrey Wayman, Brian Yi; 10th grade - Ryan Lee; 11th grade - Scott Arthur; 12th grade - Daniel Boughton, Lacey Sholtiss. The students were acknowledged the last day of school on the Sabers News Network broadcast (SNN) and received a 2009 Silver Eagle Coin. Senior, Lacy Sholtiss has had perfect attendance since 5th grade.
