Obituaries

VIVIAN F. BAKER

Vivian F. Baker, 85, of Starrucca, PA, died on July 23, 2008, at the home of her son in Delta Junction, Alaska. She was born on May 25, 1923 in Goodman, WI, the daughter of Herman and Ella (Loucks) Fewless. She married Gifford Baker on August 4, 1944 in Baltimore, MD and he predeceased her on April 14, 2004. Vivian was a Veteran, serving as a Medical Technician in the U.S. Army.

As an active member of the community for over 55 years, she was a 4-H leader for over 25 years and served with pride as Grand Noble of the Rebekahs. In 1990, Vivian joined the Starrucca Bag Ladies. She was also an active member of the Hale Eddy Methodist Church. As a believer of service to others, she made over 1,000 lap robes that graced the lives of many.

Surviving are a son, Alan and his wife, Wendy Baker, Delta Junction, Alaska; three daughters, Sue and her husband, Ron Davis, Maitland, FL, Mary and her husband, David Cooksey, Sorrento, FL, and Ann and her husband, Glenn Erdoesey, Daytona Beach, FL; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Lois Layton and Eleanor Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Julia Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held on Monday, July 28, and a Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 29, with Pastor Keith Albee officiating. Interment was in the Hale Eddy Cemetery, Hale Eddy, NY. Her friends at Starrucca Baptist Church provided the luncheon.
