Celebrate St. Casimir’s Day
Submitted By Betty A. Kwader

Forest City Council #46 Knights of Lithuania will gather on March 2 to remember our deceased members and fellow Lithuanians. This will be a celebration of our heritage. We will attend 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Forest City and offer the Eucharistic Gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bennett will present the gifts. After Mass, we will have breakfast together at the Ben-Mar Restaurant in Carbondale. Call John Morris at 282-5901 for reservations. You do not have to be a member to attend.

Our council presently has 17 members, and would welcome additional members at any time. Monthly meetings are held for business and fellowship. An annual picnic and Christmas dinner are also celebrated. Call (570) 756-3271 for further information.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Laske of Scranton Council #74 have arranged for the Lithuanian Flag Raising Day at City Hall in Scranton. This will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, to commemorate Independence Day, which is celebrated on February 16.
