EMMA B. HUNTER

Emma B. Hunter, 88, formerly of Great Bend, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Meadow View Senior Living Center. She was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Pauleen Ralston. She was predeceased by her husband, Orville Hunter, in 1988.

She is survived by four sisters, Gladys Browgard, Maxine Stephens, Geneva Tiffany, Beatrice Button; two stepchildren, Orville S. Hunter, Jr. and Karen Unley; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Bruce, Hugh and Robert; and one sister, Jane Truolaski.

Emma retired from her position as an inspector with a manufacturing company. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 1 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead.

Interment, New Milford Cemetery.

GARY L. MERRITT

Gary L. Merritt, 61, Great Bend Township, PA, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, November 29, 2007. He was the son of the late Joseph and Lois Eberlin Merritt.

Gary is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Margo Bonney Merritt; two sons, Chris Merritt and Kim Merritt and his girlfriend, Stephanie Reed; four grandchildren, Marika Merritt, Meaghan Merritt, Jozalynn Merritt, Cooper Rollison; nine of his siblings, Joann Howe, Patricia Clark, Gloria Cosgrove, Jackie Eaton, Ruby Ingraham, Lois Singer, Lewis Merritt, Donna Irvin, June Hills; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Bonney; two brothers-in-law, Randy Murphy, Shawn Murphy; four sisters-in-law, Priscilla Hranek, Sheila Derigo, Brenda Allen, Raelene Murphy; an uncle, Roy Eberlin; two special nieces, Debbie and Danelle; many nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Wayne and Donald Merritt.

Gary was the owner/operator of Gary Merritt Trucking for thirty-seven years. He served his country in the United States Army during Viet Nam. Gary was the Vice-Commander of the American Legion Post 357. He formerly served as the Chaplin of the Legion. He currently happily served as the Bingo caller on Thursday evenings.

A memorial service was held on Monday, December 2 at the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA.

Arrangements were made by the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead.

ARDEN C. MURPHY

Arden C. Murphy, 60, New Milford, PA, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 26, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Swavola Murphy.

Also surviving are four children and their spouses, Michelle and Erik Lusk, Palmdale, CA, Kristen and Michael Hinkley, Hallstead, PA, Robert and Jenn Murphy, Montrose, PA, Trishalaine and Greg Piechocki, New Milford, PA; six grandchildren, Cadence and Braddoc Lusk, Grace Hinkley, Callan Murphy, and Emma and Gage Piechocki; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his faithful companion, a chocolate Lab, Toby.

He was predeceased by a son.

Arden was a skilled carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters’ Union Local #281. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in New Milford, a member of the American Legion Post #357, and an associate member of the VFW #6223. Arden was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, archery, and fishing.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 30, at the United Methodist Church in New Milford.

Arrangements were made by the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead.
