GLADYS MAE TROUP

Gladys Mae Troup, 83, Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2007 at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, after an illness.

She was predeceased by her husband, George J. Troup, Jr., on July 17, 1997; her brothers, Walter and Duane Brown.

Gladys is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis Troup, George W. and Darlene Troup, all of Susquehanna; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Phillip Sanborn, Susquehanna; two sisters, Pearl Williams, Great Bend, PA, Marion Gulick, New Milford,  PA; brother-in-law and wife, Francis and Nan Troup, Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters-in-law and husband, Betty and Mike Krall, Oakland, PA, Eunice Brown, Florida; five grandchildren, Paula and Kevin McKee, Renee and Ken Papocchia, Tyler Troup, Alexander Troup, Ashley Troup; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; close friend, Donna Page.

Gladys was a member of the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary, Loyal Order Moose Lodge 794 Auxiliary, and Susquehanna Fire Department Auxiliary.

She worked at Singer Company and The Store in Susquehanna before her retirement. Gladys was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid Yankees fan who loved watching the games, and a big Uno card player.

The funeral service was held on Friday, February 23 at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with Rev. Kenneth Bitler officiating. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Susquehanna.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Barnes-Kasson Hospital, 400 Turnpike St., Susquehanna, PA 18847.

MARK G. TARBOX

Mark Tarbox, 52, Susquehanna, PA, passed away February 23, 2007 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loving friends and family.

He was predeceased by his father, Glenn Earl Tarbox and brother, Michael Ward Tarbox.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Denise Tarbox and mother, Patricia Marie Tarbox; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Murika Decker, Gibson, PA, Todd and Tammy Fisk, stationed in Omaha, NB; one daughter and son-in-law, Heather Lee and Gerry Kays, Lakeside, PA; four brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Cheryl Tarbox, Lanesboro, PA, James Tarbox, Susquehanna, PA, Matthew Tarbox and Karen Adams, Ararat, PA, John and Penny Tarbox, Susquehanna, PA; special friends and family members, Peter Janicelli, Joseph Bucci, Marge Wood, Rita Hillis; hospice nurses, Mary Pat and Helen; nine grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark worked at BK Norris Distributors for over 20 years as well as being a Susquehanna County Correctional Officer before retiring. He was a United States Air Force veteran who served during Vietnam. Also, Mark was the Vice Commander at the Susquehanna American Legion Post #86. He loved the outdoors and was a master at trivia. Most of all Mark was a man of many friends who loved life and lived it to the fullest.

The funeral service was held on Monday, February 26 at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, and at St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, where a Mass of Christian Burial was held with Rev. Robert Simon officiating.

Burial, Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeside, PA.
