HEADLINES:
First Universalist Holiday Activities The Worship Committee of the First Universalist Church, Brooklyn announced the following Christmas events. Sunday, December 17 at 10:00 a.m., the Church School will present their program entitled, “Symbols at Christmas” followed by congregational participation in “Hanging of the Greens.” At 6:30 p.m., the public is invited to go Christmas Caroling in the community. On Sunday, December 24, Christmas Eve, there will be a 10:00 a.m. service entitled, “Universalist Contributions to Christmas.” Christmas Eve at 8:00 p.m. will be a Candlelight Service that will open with a prelude performance of Christmas Carols by Willie Nelson, flautist and Maddie Murray, pianist. In dim candlelight, following their performance, a solo voice will echo with the carol, “One In Royal David’s City.” During the service, the church choir will perform “Carols for Christmas” under the leadership of Linda Kulick. Pastor Christianson will deliver the sermon entitled, “Family and Friends At the Savior’s Cradle.” At the close of the service, the light of candles will be shared by all, singing together “Silent Night.” On Sunday, January 7, will be the Festival of Epiphany and the Visitation of the Magi at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to the fellowship of these services.
