DOROTHY M. CHOBOT Dorothy M. Chobot, Susquehanna, PA, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2006 at her home after an illness. Dorothy was born in Simpson, PA, the daughter of the late Michael and Verna Ondra. Dorothy was predeceased by her two sisters, Mildred (Ondra) Williams, Verna Ondra; and one brother, John Ondra. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph Chobot; two sons, J. Robert and Carol Chobot, Owego, NY, Thomas M. and Gwyn Chobot, Reading, PA; five brothers, Mike Ondra, Pennsburg, PA, George Ondra, Pennsburg, PA, Emil Ondra, Quakertown, PA, Martin Ondra, Anchorage, AK, Joseph Ondra, Pennsburg, PA; one sister, Helen Lehman, Coopersburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Jayne Pazienza, Jason, Joseph, Joshua, Sarah, Sara, and Michael Chobot; one great-granddaughter, Adrian Chobot. Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Evangelist Church, Susquehanna. Before her retirement, she was a nurses’ aide at Barnes-Kasson Hospital SNF in Susquehanna, and Rivermeade Nursing Home in Binghamton, NY. She was a loving and caring wife, and mother and will be deeply missed by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. John’s Church on Monday, December 4, with Rev. Robert Simon officiating. Burial, St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Church, Susquehanna. VIRGINIA E. BROWN Virginia E. Brown, Susquehanna, PA, our beloved mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 29, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, John “Edgar” Brown; as well as her two brothers, Leo R. Hill and Reverend Raymond A. Hill. She is survived by her nine children, Jerry and Linda Brown, Fort Wayne, IN, Janet Brown-Terboss, Binghamton, NY, Peggy and Randy Skiba, Westerville, OH, John and Connie Brown, Oldsmar, FL, Mike and Susan Brown, Newport News, VA, Peter Brown, Endicott, NY, Mary Beth and Donald DeWitt, Susquehanna, Barbara Dearie and Rick Paugh, Johnson City, NY, Jim and Melanie Brown, Houston, TX; her brother, Phillip and Phylis Hill, Fishkill, NY; a very special friend, Margaret Hill; many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom’s wit and easygoing manner made her a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a “homemaker” all her life and gave herself selflessly to her children and strangers alike. She was a devoted member of Saint John’s Church of Susquehanna, for 56 years. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Saturday, December 2, at St. John’s Church, with Rev. Robert Simon officiating.
