Students Named To King’s Dean’s List

Lisa Marie Paterno On President’s List

Lisa Marie Paterno, North Jackson, has been named to the President’s List for the Spring Semester, 2006 at Broome Community College. To receive this distinction, students must carry at least 12 academic credit hours and attain a semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher.

Lisa Marie is pursuing a degree in Secondary Education and will attend Marywood University in the Fall. She is the daughter of George and Amelia Paterno.

More than 650 students were scheduled to receive their degrees from Luzerne County community College at the 38th annual commencement exercises on Thursday, May 25 at the Wachovia Arena. Following are graduates from Susquehanna County.

Ashley M. Tierney Graduates M U

Ashley M. Tierney graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BSE degree in Social Studies/History Education and a minor in Art History from Mansfield University. While at Mansfield, Ashley was a member of the cross country and track teams, was President of Phi Alpha Theta, a member of Pi Lambda Theta, the National Education Association and Student Alumni Ambassadors. She was nominated for the Outstanding Senior Award and was the recipient of the Nancy Evans Sabo Award and of the Shirley Sandrock Barnhardt and Robert Barnhardt Scholarship for four years.
