MARY J. BUCKLEY

Mary J. Buckley, 83, Susquehanna, PA passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Barnes-Kasson Hospital after a short illness.

She was born in Susquehanna, the daughter of the late Harry and Julia Buckley.

She was predeceased by her three brothers, William, Harold and Jack Buckley.

Mary is survived by many cousins and special friends, Darla, her goddaughter and Pauline.

She was a member of St. John’s Church, Susquehanna. Mary was employed for many years at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, managing the volunteer staff and Barnes-Kasson Hospital, where her friends nicknamed her “Buck.” Mary was a proud Irish lady who enjoyed her home and her independence to the end.

The funeral service was held on Monday, August 15 at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, and at St. John’s Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial was offered by the Rev. Robert Simon.

MICHAEL E. NOVAK, JR.

Michael E. Novak, Jr., 31, Susquehanna, PA, died unexpectedly on July 1, 2005. He was born March 29, 1974.

He is survived by his parents, Donna Casterline and Michael Novak, Sr.; stepparents Timothy Casterline and Carol Novak; a son, Joshua Reed. He leaves behind three sisters, Barbie Norris, Crystal Bray (Casterline), Tiffany Casterline; his grandparents, Michael and Doris Shanley, Donald and Jackie Carroll, Joe and Betty Novak. He was surrounded by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

He enjoyed working stone quarries, and dreamed of one day running his own. He liked to travel and enjoyed the outdoors; camping, swimming and most of all, barbecues.

He will be forever loved and missed in the hearts of family and friends who really knew him.

A time for sharing memories will be held at the home of his grandparents, Michael and Doris Shanley, Route 171, red trailer at Penn Can Speedway, Susquehanna, August 20, 2005 at 1 p.m.
