HEADLINES:
The Susquehanna County Conservation District (SCCD) visited the fourth grade at Elk Lake School District on October 15. SCCD staff Steve Fisher, Jen Morelli, and Roger Sherwood each had an environmental demonstration as the students went to three stations for fifteen minute sessions. The Elk Lake School District should be proud of their fourth grade students as they were very attentive for the program. Jen Morelli, Erosion Control Technician, created a model to demonstrate how vegetation protects the soil from eroding. Steve Fisher, Watershed Specialist, had a ground water flow model demonstrating water and contamination flowing into the ground and into our wells and streams.
