FRANCES THOMAS SOOP

Frances Thomas Soop, 93, Lanesboro, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at her daughter’s home, after an illness.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Taylor Soop, on August 2, 1999.

Frances is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Jane Soop, Santee, CA, William and Susan Soop, York, PA, Donald Soop, Cortland, NY; one daughter, Mary Culnane Stapleton, Lanesboro; eleven grandchildren, Thomas and Kay Culnane, Lanesboro, Bill and Nancy Culnane, Susquehanna, PA, Chuck Culnane, Hallstead, PA, Mary Culnane, San Francisco, CA, Randy and Kathy Soop, Ellicott City, MD, Robert and Tammy Soop, Mt. Wolf, PA, Kelly and Robert Byer, Morristown, NJ, Lori Soop, Cortland, NY, Jennifer and Scott Crispell, Berkshire, NY, Aileen Soop, Modesto, CA, Valerie and Jay Secord, Lakeside, CA; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.

Frances was the matriarch of the family. Children and grandchildren spent many happy times at her Coxton Lake cottage and later at her pool. She was a member of many church organizations in her younger years. She was fortunate to have traveled with her husband many years of her life.

A private memorial service was held Sunday, September 19, at the Stapleton residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna Fire Department, P.O. Box 175, Susquehanna, PA; or Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Turnpike Street, Susquehanna, PA 18847.

Arrangements were made by Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna.

PATRICIA A. WOLFE

Patricia A. Wolfe, 51, Susquehanna, PA passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna.

She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Lillian and Vincent Branning, Sr., and a nephew, Michael Fisher, Jr.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Charles Wolfe; father and stepmother, Kenneth W. and Erika Fisher, Sr., Susquehanna; two sons, Lucky Wolfe, Susquehanna, Rusty Wolfe, Conklin, NY; two sisters, Monika Case, Starrucca, PA, Christina Radicchi, Binghamton, NY; six brothers, Kenneth Fisher, Jr., Susquehanna, Michael Fisher, Sr., Hallstead, PA, Joseph Fisher, Conklin, Scott Fisher, Starrucca, Vincent Branning, Jr., Susquehanna, David Branning, Susquehanna; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was employed as a nurse’s aide at Barnes-Kasson Hospital for many years. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her many plants. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, September 18 at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with Rev. Robert Matthews officiating. Burial, Starrucca Cemetery, Starrucca.

CORABELLE (BROWN) CONANT

Corabelle (Brown) Conant, formerly of Deposit, NY, fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on Monday, September 13, 2004.

Born April 15, 1923, in Colchester, NY, "Belle" was predeceased by her parents, George and Media Elizabeth Brown of Susquehanna, PA, by her husband, John H. Conant, and one son, John L. Brown, Deposit.

She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Fern Brown, Susquehanna; her daughter and son-in-law, Mark and Jackie Tarbox, Susquehanna; daughters, Ruth Brown, Mechanicsburg, PA, Elizabeth and Kathryn Conant, Deposit; a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick J. and Carolyn Brown, Deposit; two stepsons and their families, Ralph and Peggy Brennan, Greene, NY, Charles Brennan, Deposit.

She has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews what will dearly miss her.

Belle owned and operated the C & K Diner in Deposit for 35 years. She was known as the "Bean Queen" of Deposit. People would drive for miles and miles just to get those baked beans and too, that good-ole homestyle cooking she would serve. She loved music and playing the piano and harmonica, as she would always take a break and play for all to enjoy. She will be dearly missed by all.

At her request, a graveside ceremony was held on September 18 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit, officiated by Pastor Kathy Myrick.
