New Pastor At Area Methodist Churches

Sunday, July 4, was the start of new beginnings for the United Methodist Churches at Forest City and East Ararat. Bishop Susan M. Morrison, Bishop of the Wyoming Conference of the United Methodist Church, appointed Joseph Travis, Pastor of the Forest City Charge.

Pastor Joe and his wife, Bonne were warmly welcomed at both churches. They are excited about sharing the gospel and helping each one grow in the Lord.

Pastor Joe and Bonne started off on Saturday morning helping out with the well attended breakfast at East Ararat. The church served around 200 for breakfast, with a lot of laughter and full stomachs.

After the service at Forest City, they were informed about the activities being planned for the annual Sanctuary Inn fund-raiser, held during Old Home Week, August 1-8.

On Thursday through Saturday, they will be selling wimpy’s, hot-dogs, cake, and soda, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an indoor yard sale each day. Friday the 6th, there will be a bake sale. Please stop in and support the church.

If you don't have a home church, they invite you to come and worship.

East Ararat UMC is located on Route 370, just off Route 171; service begins at 9:00 a.m. The Forest City Church is located on the corner of Main Street and Dundaff Street; service begins at 10:30 a.m.

For additional information call (570) 465-7303.
