Senior Menu December 15 - 19

Monday, December 15: Christmas dinner for Senior Centers (except Lenoxville); cranraspberry juice, baked sliced ham, sweet potato, buttered peas and carrots, dinner roll, coconut breeze cake.

Tuesday, December 16: Salisbury steak with noodles, pickled beets, wheat bread, orange juice, fruit cocktail.

Wednesday, December 17: spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread, pineapple chunks.

Thursday, December 18: Christmas dinner for Lenoxville (see Monday); ham slice, potato salad, asparagus, dinner roll, lemon meringue pie/peach slices.

Friday, December 19: stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, green beans, rye bread, tropical fruit.

Holiday Centerpiece Workshop Scheduled

The Garden Club of Montrose is going to help you get ready for Christmas! Fresh evergreens, pinecones and other dried and painted plant material, ribbons and candles will be supplied at a workshop to create a beautiful holiday arrangement for home or as a gift. Bring your favorite small container or pick from an assortment at the workshop.

Accredited Life Flower Show Judge Gladys Bennett and Accredited Master Flower Show Judge Shirley Andre will direct the workshop and will be assisted by other members of the garden club. The fee, payable at the door, includes all supplies and light refreshments. Bring scissors or clippers if you have them.

Two design workshops will be held on Wednesday, December 10, at Montrose Square Apartments. The afternoon session will be at 3:00 p.m. and the evening session at 7:00 p.m. Reservations are a must as space is limited. Call garden club president Brenna Aileo at 278-9703 or vice-president Gladys Bennett at 278-3106 to secure your place.

Children's Christmas Party At Legion

The annual children’s Christmas party sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion will be held in the Legion’s Memorial Hall on Sunday, December 14 at one o’clock. The kids will be treated to popcorn, soda, gifts and above all Santa Claus will be there to take their "orders" for Scranton.

Also, on Thursday, December 11, veterans from the Wilkes-Barre Medical Canter will be guests of the American Legion. Local veterans are urged to attend and greet the disabled veterans, who will be there from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
