GERALD C. WILLIAMS

Gerald "Star" C. Williams, Susquehanna, PA, formerly of Hornell, NY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2003. He is predeceased by his parents, Charlton and Marion Williams.

He is survived by his devoted companion, Ceil Ivory; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Julie Williams, Wellsville, NY; daughters and sons-in-law, Teri and Duane Hendrix, Puyallup, WA, Dawn Marie and Bill Walker, Endicott, NY, Cathy and Todd Tracey, Pavilion, NY, Lori and Scott Ogden, Hornell, NY, Betsey Williams, Olean, NY; eleven grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, A. J. and Christine Williams, Thompson, PA.

Jerry retired from Conrail Railroad after 42 years of service. He also served in the Navy and Korean War. He was a member of the Moose and Legion of Susquehanna and Hornell. He was a contributing sports reporter for the Susquehanna Transcript years ago. Jerry loved sports, especially baseball and Little League, where he spent many years as an umpire.

We will miss you, Dad, rest in peace. Now you can join your long-lost, best friend, Phil Kane.

A memorial service was held at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Susquehanna, on Saturday, March 15.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.

EDITH ELNORA PRATT

Edith Elnora Pratt, 85, Montrose, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA. Se was born in Springville, PA to the late John and Mary Alice (Thomas) Lathrop. Her husband of 67 years, Walter I. Pratt, survives her.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who also loved her garden and flowers.

Edith is survived by five sons and their spouses, Charles Pratt, Hallstead, PA, Walter E. and Thelma I. Pratt, Montrose, PA, Robert W. and Carolyn E. Pratt, Franklin Forks, PA, William F. Pratt, Freeville, NY and formerly of Clifford, PA, Harold and Sharon Pratt, Phoenix, NY and formerly of Windsor, NY; sister, Hazel Singer, Heart Lake, PA; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Elnora Pratt, a brother and sister predeceased Edith.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22 at the Franklin Hill Presbyterian Church, Hallstead, PA, with Rev. Ed Wolf officiating. Friends may call on the family following the service.

Arrangements were made through the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Franklin Hill Presbyterian Church, RR 2 Box 2255, Hallstead, PA 18822.

WILLIAM E. GLOVER

October 13, 1942-March 10, 2003

On Monday, March 10, 2003, "Bill" William E. Glover found peace and eternal rest after an eight-year battle with cancer and kidney disease. The past eight years are a tribute to his strong will and fighting spirit and the tireless love and care from his wife.

Bill is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Lorraine (Vacca) Glover; his daughter, Lori Comeau and her husband John; daughter, Sue Glover and her fiancé Greg; son, Raymond and his fiancee, Julie; grandchildren, Matthew, Craig, Stacy, Theodore, Tyler and one on the way; his mother, Marge (Westgate) Glover.

There will be no services at Bill's request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society; the Kidney Dialysis Center; or Hospice.

ALBERT BURCHELL

Albert Burchell, 74, Tarpon Springs, FL, died Friday, March 14, 2003 at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital.

Born in Thompson, PA, son of Freeman and Flossie Burchell, he married Beverly Avery and moved to Buffalo, NY, where together they raised their family of four and made their life. He retired from General Motors in 1978 and moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida in 1985 where he became member of First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs and the Moose Lodge in Holiday, FL.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Beverly; daughter, Linda and her fiancé, Leon Whitney, Port Richey, FL; sons, Allen and wife Judy, Marshfield, MA, Larry and wife Judy, Spring Hill, FL, Craig and wife Anna, Mobile, AL; seven grandchildren, Amy, Renee, Lori, Andrew, Jordan, John, Shaleigh; one great-grandchild, Jillian.

Funeral services were held from Trinity Memorial Gardens, New Port Richey, FL.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Heart Association.

Trinity Memorial Gardens will be Albert’s final resting place.
