HEADLINES: Christianity is far different than all the religions of the world. It is the only one that offers complete forgiveness based on the act of Love from the Redeemer (Christ). All others involve a "works salvation" based on some merit of the individual. That is why Jesus said, " I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." (John 14:6) One must think seriously about this matter of "Religion" and what is truth. One may be sincere, but sincerely wrong! And what a shock the consequences would be! At an international gathering of young people in new York City, we are told, a young American asked a cultured girl from Burma what was the religious belief of the majority of the Burmese. The young women informed him that it was Buddhism. The American said quite casually, "Oh, well, that doesn't matter, all religions are the same anyway." The Burmese girl, looking directly at the young man, said, "If you had lived in my country you would not say that! I have seen what centuries of superstition, fear and indifference to social problems have done for my people. We need the truth and uplift of Christianity. When I became a Christian it cost me something. If your religion had cost you more, you might be more aware of its superiority. My country needs Christ!" Too often in America we see this apathetic thought process of "all religions are the same." Its atheistic foundation has produced the decay of morals, values, and ethics we see and read about today. Man would think differently if it was ever before his eyes that, "...as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." (Heb. 9:27) All are invited to the second Annual Gospel Fest, Saturday, February 15 at the South Montrose Community Church, on Rte. 29, South Montrose, PA. Gospel music begins a 7:00 p.m. Entertainment by "All for One," Bill and Lisa Reidsma, "Saving Graces," Rev. Ed Simmons, Corky Staats, and the Church choir. A covered dish supper is also available beforehand at 5:30 in the Fellowship Hall (beverages and table settings will be provided).
