CLARA LYNUM BARRON SASARA

Clara (Lynum) Barron Sasara, 84, Chenango Forks, NY, formerly of Susquehanna County, died Sunday, January 26, 2003 at the home of her daughter in New Milford, PA, in the company of her loving family. Born in the Philippines on December 5, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John William and Alejandra (Aguilar) Lynum. She was raised by the nuns of the Order of the Good Shepherd in Manila and obtained her US citizenship at the age of 19. In 1986 her husband, William Gray Barron died, and in 1994 her next husband, Leonard J. Sasara, predeceased her as well.

A seamstress, she worked for clothing manufacturers and retired from the former RCM Dress Factory in New Milford. She was a member of the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488, Lenox, Ladies Auxiliary, and loved music, dancing, gardening and her children.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Miriam and Reinhold Greb, Blooming Grove, PA, Barbara and Douglas Barnhart, Brackney, PA, Judith and Gary Millard, New Milford; sons and daughters-in-law, William Gray, Jr. and Arlene Barron, Lindley, NY, John Carl and Colleen Barron, Endwell, NY, Paul Richard and Judy Barron, Lindley, NY; daughter-in-law, Diane Barron, Heart Lake, PA; sister, Thelma Susbilla, Carson City, CA; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews.

In addition to her husbands, a son, Robert L. Barron, predeceased her in 1986.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 29, 12:30 at the Bartron Funeral Home, Inc., a Selected Independent Funeral Home, 74 Church St., Montrose, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Mary Church, 60 South Main Street, Montrose.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
