EVENTS, PROGRAMS, HAPPENINGS, SEMINARS: Judge O’Malley Portrait To Be Unveiled The Susquehanna County Bar Association is pleased to announce that a portrait of the Honorable M. Donald O’Malley, President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Susquehanna County between the years of 1969 and 1989 will be unveiled at a ceremony to be held on December 23, at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend the event, which will be conducted in the large courtroom at the Susquehanna County Courthouse where Judge O’Malley presided with such distinction for the twenty years that he was President Judge, and for several years thereafter on "Senior Status." Judge O’Malley, a native of Susquehanna and Montrose, was admitted to the practice of law in 1950. In 1960 he assumed the position of District Attorney of Susquehanna County, a post that the held for eight years, followed immediately by his tenure as President Judge. He died on August 22, 2001, leaving a wonderful family and a judicial legacy long to be remembered, not only by his judicial demeanor but by the portrait that will be prominently displayed in the Susquehanna County Courthouse.
