HELEN KOVACH LASHINSKI

Helen Kovach Lashinski, 87, formerly of Great Bend, PA went to join her loving husband of sixty-five years Joseph J. Lashinski on February 21, 2010.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri Shea and Susan McAulliffe, of Hallstead, PA; a son-in-law, Bruce McAulliffe, Hallstead, PA; two grandsons, Joseph and Thomas McAulliffe; a great granddaughter, Jillian McAulliffe; sister, Lillian Sherba; brother-in-law, Louis Hrncirik; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a manager for Sears Roebuck and Company Catalog Store in Binghamton, NY and was an avid reader.

Funeral services were held at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA on February 25, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Great Bend, PA where a Mass of Christian Burial was offered. Interment was made in St. Lawrence Cemetery.

BRUCE A. SLOCUM

Bruce A. Slocum, 62, of Susquehanna, PA passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the Barnes Kasson SNF after a life long battle with diabetes. Bruce was born in Susquehanna, PA, on November 15, 1947.

He is survived by his two children Kristopher and Dena Slocum, and Lisa and George Blanyar; three grandchildren; one brother Eugene Slocum; two sisters, Jeraldine Osterhout, and Kathy Tadlock; several nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Bruce worked for several years for Matis Manufacturing in Oakland, PA. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Stone Bridge Lions Club, Canawacta Rod and Gun Club, and American Legion Post #86 of Susquehanna, PA.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Baptist Church, Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA.
