October Proclaimed “Susquehanna County Reads Month”

Susquehanna County Commissioners proclaimed October 2009 as Susquehanna County Reads Month in conjunction with The Susquehanna County Library and Historical Society. The program is funded in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.

Residents will be offered a literary classic “My Antonia” in an effort to promote reading for all ages and will have the opportunity to participate in events such as “Honoring Our Rural Heritage” at Salt Springs, a book discussion, movies, an old time craft day, and a Barn Bash to coordinate with “My Antonia.” All citizens are encouraged to participate and enjoy the events.

Pennsylvania State Police and Binghamton Police Department, NY, with the assistance of Broome County Sheriffs Department, Susquehanna County District Attorney’s Office & New York City Police Department are investigating a Suspicious Death.
