Thomas Anthony Marcikonis, 46, of the Elmwood section of West Hartford passed away September 6, 2009. Born January 16, 1963, Tom was the youngest son of Paul and Virginia Marcikonis, previously from Susquehanna and Wrighter Lake, Thompson.

He was predeceased by his brother Pete. Tom is survived by his sisters Frankie and Lee of Thompson, PA; and a brother Michael and sister-in-law Sarah of Longmont, CO.

Tom grew up in Elmwood, West Hartford and graduated from Conard High School in 1981. During the 1990's Tom lived in Aurora, CO and worked in the automotive industry. Since returning to Connecticut, Tom worked at R & M Auto Services, Newington as an appraiser and body shop manager. Tom was an outdoorsman spending never enough time at Wrighter Lake in Thompson, PA. His interests included boating, snowmobiling, cycling and cooking Tuesday night dinner with friends. As well as an outdoorsman, Tom loved all the different aspects of the automotive industry. Tom had a sharp wit and contagious sense of humor. He was extremely generous to all, never too busy to help someone out, and knew how to get things done. Tom leaves behind many wonderful friends and his dog Angel Baby.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 12, at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Brigid, 1088 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford.
