CHARLES C. ARTHUR, JR.

Charles C. Arthur, Jr., 67, of James Creek, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in Pennsylvania, after an accident.

Chuck was born September 6, 1941, to the late Charles C. and Mildred (Dix) Arthur, Sr.

He was also predeceased by his beloved cousin, Evalyn, raised from birth by his parents and passed away when Chuck was seventeen.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Lindsey) Arthur and their five sons: Charles C. III (Jodi), Robert P. (Lonnie), Timothy A. (Beth), Thomas M. (Shari) and Daniel J. (Shanda); his grandchildren: Lori, Sarah, Bo, Erin, Chris, Brandy, Nathan, Hannah, Alyson, Noah, Jacob and Kylee; two stepgrandsons: Cory and Brandon; one great grandson Blaine and two brothers Warrick (Bertha) and Wayne (Joan) and several nieces and nephews.

Chuck was a machinist apprentice in New Jersey after graduating high school in Susquehanna, PA. He finished his apprenticeship in Hornell, NY and worked for the Erie Railroad Company, while there he became a chairman for the machinist union. He was promoted to General Chairman, covering the N.E. quadrant of the United States. He retired in 1986, traveled extensively and lived life to the fullest.

Chuck loved hunting and the great outdoors, but his greatest love was for motorcycles. He lived fast, he rode fast and thus he died. He had a zest for life and lived it to his fullest. He definitely left a mark and I am sure will be in many conversations for years to come.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetic Association.
