Here’s How It Works To make it easier to understand how the dairy farmer gets paid, is to picture in your mind, a pie. Cut the pie into four pieces, then cut it again into eight pieces. Say the milk is worth eighty cents a pound. All those pieces represent just the raw milk being priced out, by a different buyer. Remember, the farmer already made the milk pure, 100% pure. The milk is grade A pure from the farm, it is a good thing because the farmer would lose more money from the get go. Say you have an apple tree in your yard. You want eighty cents for one pound of apples. How much would you get for your apples? How much do you all think that the dairy farmer gets for his milk? Well that, as they say, depends. Our economy is controlled by the same few people who buy milk. Speculators, traders, and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The stock market. The more hands in the pot, the less each farmer gets, and the more ways they just have to divide the pot, the more we all pay for milk, butter, cheese, cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, powdered milk, skim milk, whole milk and on and on. Get it? That is if they want to buy it (this week or store it in a warehouse). Someone once said to me, “The poor speculators need a job, too.” Let them milk cows. Can someone send this letter to our new president? I need to talk to him. The way milk is priced has nothing to do with how much it costs to produce the grade A raw milk. Now you all understand! Sincerely, Peter A. Seman Thompson. PA Comments Are Needed No health care worker should ever be forced to participate in practices that he or she finds morally objectionable – hospital employees forced to perform abortions, for instance. On order from President Barack Obama, the Department of Health and Human Services is proposing to rescind the regulation it issued on December 18, 2008 entitled, “Ensuring That Department of Health and Human Services Funds Do Not Support Coercive or Discriminatory Policies or Practices in Violation of Federal Law.” The public is invited to comment on this proposed rescission. All comments on this proposed rescission, though, are due by 11:59 p.m. on April 9, 2009. Electronically: E-mails may be sent to proposedrescission@hhs.gov. Alternatively, comments may be made online at www.Regulations.gov. Once on the website, click on the link, “Select to find documents accepting comments or submissions” and enter the keywords, “Rescission Proposal.” On the next page, click on “Send a Comment or Submission.” Attached comments preferably should be in Microsoft Word, but HHS also accepts WordPerfect and Excel. Regular mail: Office of Public Health and Science, Department of Health and Human Services, Attention: Rescission Proposal Comments, Hubert H. Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Avenue, S.W., Room 716G, Washington, DC 20201. Sincerely, Annette Corrigan Jackson, PA One Nation Under God Most people assume this part of our nation’s Pledge of Allegiance as fact. But we have to admit, we have neglected and abused our rights and privileges. We continue to allow our government and major media to legislate immorality, promote abortion, and destroy marriage. As our pastor said, our identity is being destroyed with the removal of our right to publicly acknowledge Jesus Christ, the God of our fathers. So what are we hoping in? The U. S. government and its treasury! We wear ourselves out, running around to save jobs, our homes, and our world, but we completely miss the one and only plan that will save us from famine, from persecution, war and enslavement. As this writer has indicated before, the Roman Catholic Church knows the only remedy for impending world disaster is to obey the full message of Fatima. Our Lord’s explicit command is that Russia be consecrated by name, so that His Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Heart may be loved and venerated along with His Sacred Heart – nothing else will do! This will greatly help the Russian Orthodox Church. For the wonderful story on this and more, go to www.fatima.org. Sincerely, John Mann Susquehanna, PA LETTERS
