GLADYS E. COON

Gladys E. Coon, 78, of Lenoxville, died Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna. She was the wife of the late Willis Coon, who died October 21, 1984.

Born January 2, 1931 in Jermyn, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Muriel (Adams) Reynolds.

She was a graduate of Jermyn Schools and was a foster grandparent for the Mountain View School District. She was a member of the Worth Baptist Church in Jermyn, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company, the Senior Center in Lenoxville, the Little People of America and the American Cancer Society.

She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crocheting and collecting angels.

She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She was an extremely kind and caring person who, despite all her difficulties, always put others first. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Donnelly, Jr. and wife, Mary of Ararat, PA, Joseph Donnelly and wife, Joyce of Conklin, NY and Willard Donnelly of Pittsburgh, PA; four daughters, Robyn Leonard and husband, Chris of Thompson, PA, Rose Mary Bixby and husband, Joseph of Lenoxville, PA, Cindy Seman and husband, Michael of Lenoxville, PA and Paulette Taylor of Elkton, MD; one brother, Floyd Reynolds of Honesdale, PA; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Donnelly; one brother, Francis Reynolds; one sister, Florence Cottrell.

The funeral was held on Thursday at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Clifford, with Rev. John Sandau, pastor of the Thompson Baptist Church, officiating. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
