MICHAEL O’BRIEN COTTER Michael O. Cotter, born March 1, 1958, of Savona, NY, formerly of Susquehanna, PA and Hornell, NY, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 29, 2008 while in California visiting his daughter. Michael was an exceptional husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony P. Cotter. Surviving are his loving wife, Charlene; his five children, Michael R., Katie, Bridget, Nichole and Anthony. Also, his mother, Evelyn (Cotter) Milsom, Kirkwood, NY; nine siblings and their spouses, Terry and Mary Jane Cotter, Maine, NY, Shane and Wilson DaCosta, Charlotte, NC, Kathleen and Walt Ackley, Thompson, PA, Mary Jo and Steve Glover, Susquehanna, PA, Susie Prentice, Conklin, NY, Maureen Linn, Daytona, FL, Bridget and Stephen Graver, Windsor, NY, Timothy and Cheryl Cotter, Thompson, PA, Jon Joseph Cotter, Charlotte, NC; stepmother, Joan B. Cotter, Lisle, NY; two step-sisters and spouses, Kathleen and Scott Dixon, Lisle, NY, Roxanne and Lorin Storch, Elmira, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Michael was a wonderful, kind and loving man. He will be missed desperately, forever in our hearts, minds and souls. May he rest in peace with the Lord. Funeral arrangements are not finalized at this time. SHIRLEY ANNE TRAVIS Shirley Anne Travis, 76, of Hallstead, PA, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 in Johnson City, NY. She was predeceased by her son, Niles Corwin in 1998. She is survived by several cousins, including Marian Page, Evelyn Williams, Barbara Mower, and Richard Luce; and a special friend, Richard Swingle. Shirley loved the people of her community. She expressed her feeling through volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the V.F.W. chicken and biscuit dinners. She was a social member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She loved cats. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Shirley Anne Travis Memorial Fund, c/o People’s National Bank, Hallstead, PA.
