CLYDE R. HARVEY

Clyde R. Harvey, 87, of Turnpike Terrace Apartments, Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, after a brief illness.

He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Harvey and one son, Lee Harvey.

He is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Swartwood and Linda Whitmore; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Joanne Harvey; one daughter-in-law, Sue Harvey; Clyde has ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II. Harvey was retired from the railroad after 39 years of service.

He will be greatly missed by his family and his cat, Tiger, who was his companion.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 24, at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with Rev. Carl Batzel officiating.

Burial, McKune Cemetery, Oakland, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna County Humane Society, Montrose, PA.

DONALD P. GRUBER, SR.

Donald P. Gruber, Sr., 65, Lanesboro, PA, resided with his brother and mother, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA, after an illness.

He was predeceased by his father, Carl L. Gruber and a brother, Gerald L. Gruber.

Don is survived by his mother, Grace W. Gruber; brother, Bernard (Mel) Gruber; daughter, Stephanie Higgs, Medina, NY; son, Donald P. Gruber, Jr., South Carolina; grandchildren, Terra and Ryan Higgs, both of Medina, NY.

He was a member of St. John’s Church of Susquehanna and American Legion Post. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, February 2, 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church, Susquehanna.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
