HEADLINES: Katherine McHale Works For S U Calling Program Selinsgrove – Katherine McHale, Starrucca, is a supervisor for the Susquehanna University student calling program. For more than 20 years, the Susquehanna student calling program has continued to raise funds for the university. There are currently 28 students participating in the program, five of which are supervisors. The program is held for 10 weeks in the fall and six weeks in the spring. Supervisors are responsible for managing the calling room, tallying results, and recommending students for hire. Student callers contact parents and alumni to encourage them to support the university by making a donation. The funds raised are then used to benefit the university in a variety of ways, including scholarships, laboratory equipment, research, athletics, the library, and even the arts. The calling program aims to raise about $250,000 this year; last year they raised $224,676. Katherine, a senior public relations major, is a 2004 graduate of Susquehanna Community High School and is the daughter of Mark and Karen McHale.
