The William Jasper Burchell Memorial Scholarship was presented to Daniel Weber of New Milford. He is the son of Kevin and Laurie Weber. This scholarship has been awarded annually since 2001 to a young person from South New Milford Baptist Church to aid them in their planned involvement in Christian ministry. It is given to honor the son of Bill and Margo Burchell. Dan graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 2006 and recently completed his first year at Houghton College, Houghton, NY. He plans to continue in intercultural studies and possibly work with a missionary aid organization such as World Vision.

Last year's recipient, Amberlynne Neild Claussen, with her husband, Andrew recently finished Jungle Camp at New Tribes Mission Centre in Ontario, Canada. They are expecting a son in late October. They hope to be on the field in Indonesia in 2009.
