SARA I. OSTERHOUT

Sara I. Osterhout, 88, Hallstead, PA, passed away February 18, 2007 at Barnes-Kasson SNF, Susquehanna, PA. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Lillian Richards and was predeceased by two brothers, Llewellyn Richards and Jesse Richards, and by a sister, Alice Miller.

Sara is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Laurence R. Osterhout; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna R. and Don Comer, Hallstead; a son, Albert P. “Butch” Osterhout, Hallstead; a very special sister, Ann Rose and husband, Richard; a special aunt, Grace Kaminski; grandchildren, David and wife Lisa Comer, SMSgt Daniel Comer, Christina Rex, and William Osterhout; one great-grandson, Grant David Comer; two great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law.

Sara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hallstead, and the Presbyterian Women’s Leah Circle. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, and dear friend who will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she has touched.

A funeral service will be held at Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, 5 Susquehanna Avenue, Hallstead, PA, on Friday, February 23, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Charles Link officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hallstead, PA.

The family will receive callers from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sara Osterhout may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Leah Circle, P.O. Box 370, Hallstead, PA 18822; or to the Susquehanna County Chapter, American Cancer Society, Montrose, PA 18801.

FRANCIS JOSEPH ULRICH

Francis Joseph Ulrich, 85, of Susquehanna, PA., passed away on February 10, 2007.

Joe, as all of his family and friends called him, was born in New York City, NY, on December 20, 1921.

Joe was predeceased by his wife, Rose Martha Ulrich.

Joe is survived by his son, Richard Ulrich and his daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and William Collins; grandchildren, Jeffrey and William Collins, Heather Collins Lockwood, and Alanna Ulrich Ketchum.

Joe was a WWII veteran and a member of VFW, Post 6223.

A memorial service was held on February 17 at St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, PA.

Burial will be at the St. John’s Cemetery, next to his wife, at a later date.

MARIE A. COLEMAN HOFFMAN

Marie A. Coleman Hoffman, 94, formerly of New Milford, PA, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Barnes-Kasson SNF, Susquehanna, PA. She was predeceased by her second husband of eight years, Howard Hoffman; by her first husband of 39 years, Nelson Coleman; and by two brothers and a sister, Herbert Hall, Ross Hall, and Anita Faye Hall.

Marie is survived by a brother, Perry Hall, Binghamton, NY; a sister, Doris Florance, formerly of Hallstead, PA; and by many nieces and nephews.

Marie was a member of New Milford United Methodist Church, where she was Secretary of the Sunday School for many years and held other offices in the church. She was also a member of Rebekah Lodge 189. She spent many years helping the Indian Missions in Arizona. For 24 years, she managed the local A & P and was a receptionist in Dr. Horton’s medical office. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid fisherman.

A funeral service was held at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, on Tuesday, February 20 with Pastor Joyce Allen officiating. Interment, Harford Cemetery.
