NELLIE MEDLAR

Nellie Medlar, 91, Oakland, PA, passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital SNF, Susquehanna, after an illness.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick O. Medlar; two sons, Philip Medlar, Frederick Medlar III; son-in-law, Gary Williams.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sandra Medlar, Jacksonville, FL, David and Diane Medlar, Oakland; three daughters and one son-in-law, Naomi and Roger Getter, Factoryville, PA, Joyce Troup, Brooklyn, CT, Gale Williams, Starrucca, PA; daughter-in-law, Linda Medlar, Hallstead, PA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Susquehanna United Methodist Church.

A graveside funeral service was held on Friday, May 26 at the Evergreen Cemetery, Susquehanna, with the Rev. Kenneth Bitler officiating.

The family would like to thank her home caregivers, the staff at Barnes-Kasson SNF and Dr. Shah.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Barnes-Kasson Hospital SNF, 400 Turnpike St., Susquehanna, PA 18847.

Arrangements were handled by Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna.

EDNA MOWER

Edna Mower, 78, Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2006 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Mower; her parents, Sandford and Gertrude Reed; four brothers, John, Richard, Sandford, Jr., and Raymond; three sisters, Mary, Mabel and Kathryn.

Edna is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, twin sister Anna and John Rogers, Indiana, Dianne and Dave MacGeorge, Conklin, NY, Evelyn and James France, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Mary Reed, Florida, Melvin and Jonnie Lee, Deposit, NY; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon MacGeorge, NY, Mary Alice and Ed Woodruff, Tunkhannock, PA, Linda Jones, Tennessee, Debra Carter, Cortland, NY, Gertrude (Lucky) Struble, Denise (Dee) and Horace Day, Bobbi Jo and Rich MacDonald; four sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Struble, California, John (Jackie) Struble, Delaware, Chuck and Julie Mower, Westwood, NJ, Richard and Verlon Mower, Chipley, FL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Asera Care Hospice of Clarks Summit,

especially her nurse, Lois.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

EVELYN G. BRUSH

Evelyn G. Brush, 94, Susquehanna, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2006 at Barnes-Kasson Hospital SNF, Susquehanna.

She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Emma Griffin.

She is survived by many cousins and friends (especially Jack and Judy Crowley).

Evelyn was a highly respected teacher and taught school in Annapolis, MD, Binghamton, NY and Susquehanna Community in Susquehanna, where she lived most of her life. She was a kind and caring lady who loved her home, loved a good time and was a great cook.

Evelyn had many dogs throughout her life which she loved very much, especially Jasmine, which was her favorite.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, at 9:30 a.m. at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 209 Jackson Avenue, Susquehanna and 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. John King.

Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna.
